The World Congress on Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology (Otorhinolaryngology 2020) is a highly specialized event organized by the Coalesce Research Group, which plays a vital role in the development of the ENT profession is scheduled to be held on from November 23 - 25, 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The format of the Conference with a theme “Developing New Strategies for Therapeutic Interventions in Otorhinolaryngology” features top-notch & novel presentations of experts during conference allowing attendees to have interactive sessions and to learn latest experiences & best practice.

Rhinology and Sinus Surgery

Rhinology and sinus surgery is a subspecialty of Otorhinolaryngology that manages nasal and sinus problems such as allergies, nasal obstruction, and sinusitis. The treatments in the department of Rhinology are tumors of the sinuses or anterior skull base, nasal polyps, rhinoplasty and septoplasty. Rhinology & Sinus surgery session offers to gain knowledge in the development of surgical devices and procedures to treat nose and sinus problems.

Laryngology and Larynx Disorders

Laryngology is a subspecialty of ENT (Otolaryngology) that deals with problems and injuries of the larynx, often called the voice box. This session deals with the latest advancements, diagnostic approaches, factors causing the larynx disorders and therapeutical approaches in the treatment of larynx disorders.

Rhinitis and Sinusitis - Types and Treatments

Rhinitis and sinusitis are among the most common medical conditions and are frequently associated with each other. Both rhinitis and sinusitis can significantly decrease quality of life, provoke comorbid conditions, and require significant direct medical expenditures. Both conditions also create even greater indirect costs to society by causing lost work and school days and reduced workplace productivity and school learning. The session Rhinitis and Sinusitis discuss the topics such as differential diagnosis, differential considerations, pathophysiology, physical findings and treatments.

Head & Neck Surgery

Head and Neck Surgery is a dynamic new approach that allows surgeons to remove cancers of head and neck with the use of specialized endoscopes and cameras without external incisions and usually with little or no change in speech, appearance, and swallowing function. The goals of the head and neck surgery are to develop innovative therapies, translational research, and to minimize the risks and recovery time.

Audiology & Speech Pathology

Audiologists and speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat people with communication disorders. The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology deals with the identification, measurement, and study of hearing and hearing impairments and with the treatment of persons with hearing disorders, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with speech, language, voice, literacy and fluency disorders.

Epidemiology and Prevention of ENT Infections

Inflammatory diseases of the middle ear include a broad range of pathological conditions, including acute otitis media (AOM; suppurative or nonsuppurative), bullous myringitis, granular myringitis, eosinophilic otitis media, and chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM), with or without cholesteatoma. Ear, nose and throat problems can be caused by a number of different factors. The ear, nose and throat are interconnected so the problems in one area can often affect the other.

Pediatric Otolaryngology

Pediatric Otolaryngology deals with the illnesses of Ear, Nose, and Throat in children. Facial Plastic Surgery

Facial plastic surgery is a broad field of otolaryngology surgery that involves reconstructive and cosmetic techniques in addition to the use of biomaterials, lasers, and other adjunct materials to improve outcomes. The scope of facial plastic surgery includes rhinoplasty, browlifts, blepharoplasty, facelifts, microvascular reconstruction of the head and neck, craniomaxillofacial trauma reconstruction, and correction of defects in the face after skin cancer resection.

Otorhinolaryngologic Disorders

Anesthesia and Pain Relief in ENT Surgery

The preoperative and postoperative complications in the surgeries of ear, nose, throat, head and neck can be managed by anesthesia and pain relievers. Anesthetic management in ENT procedures, including adenotonsillectomy, oesophagoscopy, and middle ear surgery will be discussed along with their complications and preoperative aspects to be considered.

General ENT

General ENT (ear, nose, and throat) or otolaryngology treats all infections and disorders related to the head and neck, including hearing, balance, sinus, nose, larynx, oral cavity, sleep, allergy, and tumors. General otolaryngologists treat conditions like infections involving the ears, nose, throat, sinuses, and skin of the head and neck. Also, congenital, inflammatory, and other problems, such as loss of hearing, dizziness, changes in taste or smell, or swallowing and voice problems, sinus disease with medical treatment.

Phoniatrics & Pedaudiology

Phoniatrics is the medical field for communication disorders, concerned with functions and diseases of voice, speech, language, hearing, and swallowing. In practice, Phoniatrics is a multidisciplinary discipline combining information from medical and non-medical sciences. This session is designed to provide information to the public on phoniatric issues and applications of evidence-based treatment.

Speaker guidelines

For Speakers:
• Keep the number of slides in your presentation to a minimum and follow the assigned slots.
• Please stop when signaled to do so by the Chair.
• Personal laptops should not be used unless in any unavoidable conditions.
• Videos will not be recorded.
• Question Sessions, thanks and acknowledgment of the speakers will take place during the session or after completion of the session, so please stay until the end of the session.

For Poster 
• Each poster should be approximately 1x1 M in Size The title, contents, text and the author’s information should be clearly visible even from 1-2 feet.
• Present numerical data in the form of graphs, rather than tables.
• If data must be presented in table-form, Keep it Simple to be easily understandable.
• Visuals should be simple, clear and bold. Avoid acronyms and mathematical notations as much as possible.
• Posters with 800-1000 words or less are perfect.
• Avoid submitting compactly packed, highly worded- count posters.
• Categorize your poster into subdivisions, e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results; Discussion, Conclusions, and Literature Cited.
• Use bright colors to enhance the better visibility Besides your project, you can also include future research plans or questions.

Abstract Peer-review Process/Guidelines:
• The Reviewing Committee of Otorhinolaryngology 2020 ensures a high-quality peer-review process for all abstracts submitted to the conference.
• The decision of abstract acceptance will be judged by a panel of experts emphasizing whether the findings and/or conclusions are novel and make useful contributions to the field.
• The committee operates a single/double-blind peer review process for all the abstracts submitted, where both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous.

The following are the steps that each abstract of Otorhinolaryngology 2020 undergoes during the process of peer review: 
• All submitted abstracts are reviewed by an internal editorial team to ensure adherence to the conference scope and abstracts which have passed this initial screening are then assigned to the session chair/review committee for evaluation.
• Once the reviews have been received, the review committee decides to accept or reject a manuscript or to request revisions from the author in response to the reviewers’ comments. If the decision tends to be a minor revision or major revision, authors will be given 14 days to resubmit the revised abstract.

Criteria to be considered for Scoring:

The abstract should be reviewed according to the following criteria: 
• The originality of concept/approach and level of innovativeness
• Significance/impact/relevance to conference theme
• Quality of research design/theoretical argument
• Conclusions and interpretations of results
• Presentation style: Coherence and clarity of structure
